Buff DesMarais died Monday, May 23rd, while pursuing one of his passions - white water rafting. For the last several years he was able to work just part-time so that he could better enjoy the company of his wife & children, grandson, sister and her family and many good friends while hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, white water rafting, working out at the gym, ATVing or watching one of his favorite teams (Steelers, Penn State, Whitworth, Gonzaga, Mariners & Spokane Indians) play baseball, football or basketball. Please feel free to add comments or favorite stories of good times shared with Buff to any of the postings, below:

Growing up in State College, PA

Comment from Barbara Dahl "Sis":

"The first picture of our family at the shore is from 1963. Our parents divorced the next spring.
He was my "older" brother. He made sure I knew it, pestering and teasing me, dunking me in the pool, shooting fireworks off outside my window. But when I attended my first high school dance, he was the one who watched over me, checked out who I was dancing with, and was there for the last dance so no one else could "take me home". Also, he was the one who waited up for me the first time I came home from college, arriving home at 2 a.m. He just wanted to talk."
