Buff DesMarais died Monday, May 23rd, while pursuing one of his passions - white water rafting. For the last several years he was able to work just part-time so that he could better enjoy the company of his wife & children, grandson, sister and her family and many good friends while hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, white water rafting, working out at the gym, ATVing or watching one of his favorite teams (Steelers, Penn State, Whitworth, Gonzaga, Mariners & Spokane Indians) play baseball, football or basketball. A Beautiful Memorial

Uncle Robert

Even though everyone called him Buff, he was always Uncle Robert (or Runcle Obert) to me, and although we lived quite far away, he always stayed close. Just last December he came to visit and meet my twin boys and my sister's little girl. After putting the babies to bed, we celebrated New Years together by playing shanghai until midnight then watching fireworks. I love that he continued to stay in touch; it never felt like a great distance.

Thoughts on Buff's life. . . well done my friend.

Great guy....going to be missed at the gym. Always happy, even when suffering from his knee pain. I was always picking on him, and if I stopped, he thought I was sick.
